Nadi History

The time of Nadi Astrology is around 2000 years and over. In earlier times the Siddhas were the ones who are the greatest god-preachers. They appeared in various forms and places, utilizing the power they received from Lord Shiva. Because Lord Shiva was happy with their dedication and devotion and devotion, the Siddhas were blessed with ESP capability (special powder ) to forecast human life of the present, past and the future. The siddhas then wrote the predictions on the palm leaves/olai suvadi/Nadi leaf. Not all of the life’s events are recorded on those leaves but only in the case of being related to saints of these saints during the time of their poorva janma(earlier date of birth).

Olai suvadi/Nadi leaves were designed in Sanskrit. Sanskrit is the most ancient language and is the foundation of all languages. Serfoji II, King of Tanjore kept these palm leaves in the Palace’s library called ‘Saraswathy Mahal’. Later, he translated them into the an ancient Tamil scripts, referred to as Vatellethu. Following British control, only a few Nadi leaflets were seized by them, a few were scattered and a few were destroyed. The remaining Nadi leaves were kept by the Astrologers families that resided in the Vaitheeswaran Temple and passed from generation to generation, but not distributed to the public.
